The PA Dutch Classic Training
The birds will be trained as they are routin good. My goal is to have them on the road by July 1st. We will train our young bird team with the classic birds so you can be rest assured the birds will be thoroughly trained. We will not sit on the birds just to have them left. All birds will get a fair test just like they were on our own race team. I cannot guarantee no bad tosses but will do my best, after all, my team will be with them.
NOTE: Our Training Report for the week ending July 12th. The birds had four tosses. Two were good and two they got broke up. Also, the pool sheets were mailed out.
Week of July 14-21, they had 1 mile tosses and on thurs they hit trainers in Delaware, we lost alot. I drove and picked up 10 in Delaware over 100 miles away.
Week of July 21-28 a few more tosses out to 5 miles.
July 28-4th August, 7 tosses out to 50 miles. So far they had 17 tosses.
August 5-11, 4 tossers, 2-50 miles, 2-30 miles.
Week of August 12-19, this week the birds had 6 tosses totalling 500 plus miles this was really boot camp for the birds. They came as a group for the most part and sat, they got broke up a little. You can view the training sheets by clicking on the Adobe Reader files below!

NOTE: On Tuesday, 28 August, the birds went 60 miles. On Wednesday, 70 miles, and on Thursday 40 miles. Tonight, 1 September, we shipped for the first race, 61 birds total, and hope to release at 8 AM.
RACE REPORT!
Below is the race report from today, September 3rd, and updated inventory due to the birds changing.
Sheet PA Dutch Classis Culpepper VA
On Tuesday, they went 60 miles, and 50 miles on Thursday. and today, Friday, they flew the 200 mile race. I shipped them early due to bad weather on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I will have the results tonight but they had a tailwind and flew the 200 miles in 3hrs and 8 mins. I would not believe it would of been that fast but I personally let them go and I will see the exact miles once I punch in the gps numbers but it was around 200 it looks like 40 some came together and a few right after.
Results of 2nd Race
This years race (2007) went extremely well. We had 61 birds go to race. At this time checks have cleared for 60 birds, and 1 bird did not make it home from the first race. So, figuring 60 birds, 1st 4100, 2nd 2000, 3rd 1000, 4-6 300 and 7th 100.
This is the same for the 300 and average speed.
NOTE: Today, September 16, the birds had a working 300 mile race. We got 29 home on the day a 3 came first, we will have the race report hopefully on Monday. The computer gave us a little issue but don't worry the return and times have been printed out. |
